Dr. Theresa Rose Bajt

ST. LOUIS, MO – August 21, 2023 – Theresa Rose Bajt, Ph.D., has been named a Top Woman in Medicine for 2023 by the organization Find A Top Doc. Dr. Bajt is a licensed psychologist practicing in St. Louis with West County Physicians and has over 25 years of working with adult disorders that include anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, manic depression, grief, ADHD/ADD, and divorce or separation.

 

The top women in medicine are nominated by medical professionals, colleagues, and patients. A panel of medical experts and editors select the winners focusing on education and professional accomplishments. The complete listing of all award winners will be published this fall.

I attribute my supporting professional and personal relationships as a key factor in helping me maintain my focus on quality and compassion,” said Dr. Bajt. “My diverse background, advanced education, and professional and personal experiences have provided me with the ability to install hope, practical solutions and navigational life skills to my patients.”

 

Dr. Bajt’s education includes earning his first master’s degree from Montana State University. She then earned an M.Ed. in Counseling and Consulting Psychology from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Maryland. She has received numerous professional awards including the prestigious “Impact Award” granted to one woman each year who makes a significant artistic or scientific contribution that changes the lives or improves the psychological welfare of children and is a six-time winner of the Top Doctor Award.

 

A co-author and publisher of several articles in the Journal of the American Psychologist, Dr. Bajt’s research is often requested internationally. Her writing has been cited in the New York Times article “When Do Therapist’s Actions Cross Over The Line”.

 

Dr. Bajt credits her earlier personal achievements and painful private family challenges for helping her excel in patient relationships. She was named Miss Montana USA in 1977 while attending Rocky Mountain College in Billings MT and appeared in a made-for-television movie produced by Dick Clark. She was married for nearly 30 years to her late husband C. Michael Powell PhD, Senior Vice President with United Healthcare’s Optum Health, who passed in 2015. She finds strength and understanding and her most valuable moments with her two sons, Christopher and Jackson, along with their wives Lauren and Jairaka Powell.
